Today, Informed Solutions is proud to announce it has become a signatory to the Police Industry Charter. This pivotal initiative is designed to standardise key principles for collaboration between policing bodies and industry.
Launched by a coalition of the UK’s foremost policing organisations and industry suppliers, the Charter seeks to cultivate strategic partnerships, improve interoperability, and spur innovation across the policing sector, helping to ensure safer communities for all.
The Police Industry Charter
The Police Industry Charter represents a pioneering effort to create a unified framework for improved collaboration between UK policing bodies and industry partners. Spearheaded by influential policing leaders including Chief Constable Gavin Stephens, Sir Matthew Rycroft, PCC Donna Jones, Lianne Deeming, Professor Paul Taylor, and Dame Julie Kenny, the Charter outlines a collective commitment to principles that promote efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness in policing.
Managed and monitored by BlueLight Commercial in partnership with the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), the Home Office, the UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Community (RISC), and the Office of the Police Chief Scientific Adviser, the Charter encourages industry suppliers and policing organisations to embrace its foundational principles, improve collaboration and ultimately deliver the highest standard of service to the public.
Key Charter Principles and Purpose
The Charter’s core purpose is to bring policing and industry closer together to address challenges, seize opportunities, and enhance the UK’s public safety and security landscape through:
- Strategic partnership and open dialogue
- Reciprocal leadership development
- Improved return on investment and skill development
- Emphasis on interoperability and technological advancement
- Transparency in police and industry relationships and improve support for both local and national policing strategies
