Informed Solutions Committed to Growth as it Celebrates 25-year Milestone

A Northern Powerhouse-based leading independent provider of digital transformation and systems integration services is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week and marking their achievements in style.

Founded by Elizabeth Vega in 1992, Informed Solutions now has offices in the UK (Manchester, Edinburgh, London) and Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra), and trades in over 40 countries.

Evening receptions are planned for Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Sydney, with the celebrations launching this Thursday, 21st September at a special gin and jazz event at the stylish King Street Town House in Manchester.

From humble beginnings in Stockport in 1992, the company has gone from strength to strength, delivering hundreds of major innovation projects to blue chip multi-nationals, national and state governments, and winning many prestigious awards along the way.

Informed has earned an enviable reputation for delivering innovation at scale and supporting the business transformation ambitions of large organisations.

This has included pioneering quite a number of digital firsts over the years.  Informed was the first company to commercially put maps and location based services on mobiles.  It also led on the first mobile computing solutions in the utilities and asset management space and partnered with a national telco supplier to pioneer tablet computing for real-time data capture and works management in the field.

More recently, Informed was the first to design and secure government services and data deployed on the Cloud and is now a clear market leader in developing safety, mission and business critical digital services.  For example, the InformedINSIGHT platform is a national solution that integrates into the UK’s emergency 999 services and has recorded and analysed over 10 million fire incidents for the Home Office.

Another significant success has been the InformedCONSULT platform, used nationally across England, Scotland and Wales to support open and secure public consultations on local and parliamentary boundary reviews as part of the UK’s digital democracy agenda.

Now at the vanguard of delivering resilient, high performing big data and AI solutions, the company was last year awarded the technology excellence award in the nuclear sector.  Informed exports this leading edge expertise and is a UK Department of International Trade Export Champion.

Global CEO Elizabeth Vega is a longstanding member of the Cabinet Office SME Advisory Panel and the first person to be an elected Director of both techUK’s Main Board and the National Board of the Australian Information Industry Association.

Commenting ahead of the milestone celebrations, she said:

“The last 25 years have been a wonderful journey of growth, setbacks and persistence.  The world has changed enormously since we started out in 1992 when the Internet was still in its infancy.  It’s been amazing to work in a period of so much change.  I also feel really privileged to work with extraordinary colleagues who are creative thinkers that welcome the chance to reinvent what’s possible, embrace complexity and do not fear change.  I continue to be motivated by the sense of achievement I feel when we deliver elegant, high performing solutions to the many complex problems that we see across disrupted sectors.

“We’ve all worked hard to build a fabulous company and workplace culture and I’m extremely proud of these achievements.  Despite all the market uncertainty, we’ve focused on playing to our strengths and continue to enjoy solid business growth.  Everyone at Informed is excited about the future as we push forward with our global growth strategy.”
